When faced with challenging situations, how many of us have a tendency to quickly become overwhelmed and focus on how impossible things appear to be? *Clears throatguilty! And this isn’t only true for major life situations. How about the small things? Like last night’s dinner perhaps…“Why is this jar impossible to open?! Mom! Help!” After a single attempt, I am filled with frustration because the jar fails to open when I want it to and immediately call for someone nearby to save me. I swear this happens every time! Unfortunately this time, no one was home, so I was forced to keep working at that jar until it finally budged. This got me thinking…we do similar things in big situations as well. After single attempts to accomplish a goal, if things fail to work out when or how we want them to, we call for rescue. In some cases we give up entirely.

While I may slip up every now and then, I am a firm believer in “speaking life” into my situations. Is anyone else going through a rough patch right now, where every situation seems to have a negative side to it and things aren’t ever in your favor…or is it just me? Patches when the doctor only seems to be calling with bad news and never good? When all of the bills are due but you have no idea how they’re going to get paid? Or even when you’re so caught up in a downward spiral of negative emotions that you feel trapped and entirely unable to escape? I have to be speaking to someone! Be encouraged! These moments are when we need to “speak life” over our situations. Believe and declare that you and your doctor will continue to work together to find a solution and you will be receiving a clean bill of health. Believe and declare that all of your needs will be provided and your worry will fade. Find joy in the smallest of things by acknowledging your many blessings–you woke up this morning, right?! It’ll all be alright!

Don’t be an expert in allowing your emotions to take control…stand firm, and declare with your mouth, all of the things that you need right now. “Ask and it will be given to you!” -Matthew 7:7 How will we receive if we never use our tongues and speak?

  1. I tend to be as bad but in the opposite way. I’ll hurt myself trying to open a bottle or jar before I ask for help. It’s an emotional response to not being able to do some things as I did before. Either way, it’s not great.

  2. Thank you for the great words of persistence. I’ve cared for several patients in the hospital with Lupus. It is a tough disease. You have a positive attitude and that makes a world of a difference. ❤️ Have a wonderful and blessed weekend.

  3. I needed to read this today. Trying to keep it together while my husband starts his business and spends more and more money, racking up the credit card bills, is tough. It’s hard not to freak out, but I know if this is going to be successful, we have to do it. Thanks, Joezette! ❤

    1. Awe you’re welcome! That makes me so happy to hear!!!! Financial difficulty can really drive you insane (I would know) but it’s so true! We’re blessed and wonderfully favored and when we live daily believing that, it makes things so much less stressful. When you really think about it, you know the credit card bills will be taken care of…this is temporary😉 ❤️❤️❤️

  4. This is so important. My friend sent me a book yesterday titled ‘The Secret’ it also mainly speaks about speaking/thinking things into existence 💕. Beautiful post!

    1. Yes! I read this book years ago! I believe that’s when my mentality began to shift…many people do not understand the power of their words! Thanks so much for reading!

      1. Hi, ladies. Just a note from one Christian to another–and from one person who read “The Secret” when it came out to another–I’d be careful what I read. “The Secret” is categorized as a self-help book. And as this article (http://www1.cbn.com/700club/dr-henry-cloud-what-bible-says-about-secret) says, “‘The Secret says we are God,’ he says. But Cloud says we as Christians know better.”
I watch a lot of John K. Jenkins sermons and he has said that if you play God or somehow show God that you’re in control of a situation, He’ll take his hands off of it and say, “Okay. She’s got it.” I don’t know about you, but I want God in control of e v e r y t h i n g since I have screwed up nearly 42 years of my life.
Hopefully you take this in the spirit in which it was intended.
As for the jar, turn it upside-down and beat on the bottom. That usually does the trick. 🙂

      2. Hey! Thank you for your insight, I really appreciate it! It’s nice to hear different takes on a topic…I definitely understand your perspective on this one. In my writing, I’m simply expressing that I believe that we need to use our words and speak by faith that He will take care of our needs so we need not worry…”The Secret” does share a different insight on this, but I do agree with the author’s take on positivity and removing negative thoughts and energy. All in love! ~Joe
Oh! And yes! I’m like a raccoon scavenging for food by the time I get to the bottom of the jar! Haha🤣

      3. I’m glad you took my comment the right way. Vocal inflection doesn’t always travel well via the written word — especially when you’ve never met the other person. 😉 I just try to save people from making the same mistakes that I’ve made.
        Enjoy your weekend!
